Mirja Väyrynen (b. 1985 in Vaasa) is a visual artist and a painter based in Helsinki. Driven by curiosity she studies the different possibilities of things and beings. Her works have many origins. Painting might have a starting point or a plan. Eventually the painting sets its own rules. Attention to the details and dialog between the artist and the material is important.
